Abbott's Illogical Plan (Human Rights?)

from Live @ The Zeds (EP) by David B

/

about

This is a song protesting Australia's current treatment of refugees. The verses are written from Tony Abbott's perspective as he's pitching the idea to his cronies. The choruses are what I'm saying to Abbott and his idiotic ways. The bridge is Abbott's speech to the public.

lyrics

We'll stop them from coming to our country,
We'll say this is a war.
They're in their dumb boats and they'll take all your jobs,
Who are you for?
Why don't we stop them and send them back home,
Why do you care?
Put them in jail. The man, wife and kids.
This is my pledge.

You won't change at all
You won't change at all
No matter what logic says.

They deserve to be put away out of sight.
So you don't feel bad.
We'll have murdoch say, they're bad for our way.
And you'll believe it.
The truths' not a thing that people care for,
as long as they're safe.
Their kids can drown, I don't really care.
It's their dad's fault.

You won't change at all
You won't change at all
No matter what logic says.

Take them away
Lock them away
Put them away out of sight and out of mind.
